Another posting about a basketball spot? I know, I know, I work for a52 and they do the vfx for the Nike campaign. So, from time to time I get to help on some of the Nike commercials that are in-house. I was asked to do some rotoscoping on this commercial. This work led me to another sweet gig, a job I’m really excited about. I can’t wait to tell you about it. More to come on that project soon.
“Spotlight” is a new commercial that Nike has put out recently. The words “Basketball Never Stops”, which is seen at the end of the commercial was tweeted by Lebron James when the NBA lockout began. The spot features Lebron, Kevin Durant, rapper J. Cole, Coach K and lots of other non-pro basketball players. The settings range from the streets of Harlem, all the way to Shanghai. The spot is meant to celebrate all athletes’ passion and dedication to the game of basketball.
Or, Maybe James is saying “Who needs the NBA?”?
